February 8, 2012 1:52 PM | Print this page | Email this page
The Seventh Annual American Bar Association Homeland Security Law Institute is taking place in Washington DC on March 22 and 23, 2012.  The Institute addresses a wide range of subjects of interest to the private and public sectors, many of which are directly relevant to the insurance industry.  It includes panels on cargo and supply chain security, public-private information sharing, cybersecurity, The Safety Act and PS-Prep, CFATS, FCPA, OFAC and CFIUS.   Edwards Wildman partners Vince Vitkowsky (Insurance, New York) and Steve Landes (Litigation, Chicago) are speaking on a panel on Private Civil Litigation Against Alleged Terrorist Sponsors.  Vince's practice includes the intersection of insurance, terrorism and national security matters.  Steve was the lead lawyer in the landmark cases utilizing the Antiterrorism Act to recover from organizations providing material support to terrorists.  The complete Agenda and registration materials are here.
