This updates our April 21 and March 8, 2010 postings.

The New York Insurance Exchange working group announced this week that a draft business plan for the Insurance Exchange is near completion.  Superintendent James Wrynn commissioned the working group in January 2010.  The group was expected to complete the draft business plan by Fall but its efforts were put on hold when Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the New York State Insurance Department would be merged with the Banking Department to form the Department of Financial Services.  Although the drafting sub-group has met twice in the last month, it has not yet established a deadline to complete the business plan.

As we noted in a previous post here, EAPD partner, Nick Pearson, is a member of the working group.  Please reference our coverage on the New York Insurance Exchange here, or contact us directly for any questions by clicking “Email the Editor” on the left-hand navigation.

We will continue to follow these developments and post updates on insurereinsure.com.
