D.C.: On July 22, the Mayor of the District of Columbia issued Mayor’s Order 2020-079, extending the COVID-19 public health emergency and prior emergency orders until October 9, 2020. As a result, Commissioner’s Order 03-2020 which prohibited the termination of insurance policies due to nonpayment remains in effect until October 9.
Health Insurance
Massachusetts: On July 24, the Governor of Massachusetts issued COVID-19 Order No. 45, which requires a 14-day quarantine for travelers arriving in Massachusetts subject to certain exceptions. There is an exception for individuals performing critical infrastructure services. Insurance is considered critical infrastructure services.
