On January 12, 2016 it was announced that Elizabeth Kelleher Dwyer was appointed as Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation’s Deputy Director and Superintendent of Insurance and Banking following former Deputy Director and Superintendent of Insurance and Banking, Joseph Torti’s retirement at the end of 2015.

Dwyer has fifteen years’ experience with the Department. Dwyer previously served as General Counsel to the Insurance Division and later as Associate Director.

She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine University in 1985 as well as her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Providence College in 1982.
