Louis Mercedes and Stephen Ixer of Edwards Wildman recently authored an article on how the microinsurance market is making strides in Latin America, which appeared in LatAm Insurance Review.  They outlined how microinsurance in the region has grown in recent years, thanks to improved regulation from governments as well as concerted efforts from the commercial sector to make a success of this segment of the market.

Latin America today accounts for approximately 15% of the global microinsurance market, with a wide and growing range of products on offer. Countries such as Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and Peru have all shown dramatic increases in microinsurance in recent years.  A copy of the article from LatAm Insurance Review is available here.
