As we previously reported here, the Senate voted to end floor debate on a bill that includes reinstating the National Flood Insurance Program (“NFIP”) on Monday, April 12, 2010. The reauthorization provision is contained in a bill that also includes the extension of unemployment benefits and COBRA health insurance subsidies. On Wednesday, April 13, 2010, the Senate voted on the bill and was two votes short of obtaining the 60 votes necessary to pass the bill.
