Lloyd’s has been awarded a license to write general (i.e. non life) insurance business in the English Channel island of Guernsey.

Until now, Lloyd’s has been considered as a “recognized insurer” in Guernsey, writing business from London on a cross-border basis. Following the grant of the license, Lloyd’s underwriters will be able to write business in Guernsey via coverholders. Lloyd’s managing agents also will be permitted to set up service companies on the island. For further details, please click here.
