On March 31, 2014, Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP (“Edwards Wildman”) hosted an informal roundtable attended by Pennsylvania Commissioner Michael Consedine.  Other invitees included clients of Edwards Wildman, as well as acquaintances of the firm.  The meeting consisted of an open dialogue with Commissioner Consedine on various “hot-button issues” that the NAIC is currently addressing, including equivalence issues under Solvency II, the likelihood for mutual recognition with the European Union, the future of group supervision under the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, the potential for federal intervention, as well as other various topics.  Edwards Wildman extends its gratitude to Commissioner Consedine for his time and looks forward to hosting similar forums in the future.
