The tragic events in Boston raise a host of questions about who should bear financial responsibility for the resulting losses, and the availability of insurance coverage for both the victims injured by the blast and the scores of businesses impacted by the bombings. This program will explore the potential claims which may be asserted by those suffering physical injury, property damage and other forms of financial loss, including possible claims of sponsorship liability and the defense of charitable immunity. This program will also review the potential application of terrorism coverages and exclusions, business interruption and contingent business interruption coverages, and civil authority and event cancellation coverages.
