William P. White has been selected to be the new Commissioner of the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (“DISB”) by Mayor Vincent Gray. He has significant experience in the insurance industry, particularly with alternative risk transfer (ART) transactions and captive insurance companies. White has held regulatory positions in the captive divisions of both the DISB and the Delaware Department of Insurance, and has been a managing principal with Prism Strategies L.L.C. since 2003. He holds degrees from Dartmouth College (BA) and New York University (MBA). White will be replacing Gennet Purcell, Esq., who has headed the DISB since August 29, 2009.
